Drags v Warriors

Homeless Rugby CIC are delighted to confirm that two of our teams will be playing each other on February 2nd.

Worcester Vs Newport representing England and Wales
at the 2017 Homeless Rugby International Cup

Warriors Homeless Rugby will once again travel to Rodney Parade to take on Dragons Homeless Rugby before then watching the Dragons v Worcester Warriors Anglo-Welsh Cup game. This will be the third time that teams have faced each other. In December 2016 Dragons Homeless Rugby took the honours with a 4-3 victory in Newport, before Warriors Homeless Rugby got some revenge when England defeated Wales 4-2 in the Homeless Rugby CIC International Cup in May.

Both teams will be featuring several new players and Dragons Homeless Rugby Head Coach Callum House said, “We’ve just restarted our delivery so it’s fantastic to be able to give our players a match so soon. We have been busy organising several fixtures between now and May and this is a great one to start off with. It will be a great motivation for our team, and we will be doing our best to make sure that the bragging rights return to Wales!”

Warriors Homeless Rugby Head Coach Dave Rogers said, “We’re really looking forward to the game. We’ve got a lot of new players in our squad who didn’t go to Newport last season, so they’re really excited about the game and then having a good evening with the Dragons players afterwards. It’s a great showcase for Homeless Rugby, playing at a famous venue with loads of history. We know it will be a tough game, Callum always gets his team well organised but hopefully we’ll be able to get our first victory in Wales.”

We are extremely grateful to Dragons Community and Warriors Community Foundation for making this event happen. May the best team win!
